Sister Jeannine Gramick in Annapolis
Yesterday, we posted that New Ways Ministry’s C0-Founder Sister Jeannine Gramick spoke at a Prayer Breakfast’s in Annapolis, Maryland, to support the state’s marriage equality bill.
Today, we learned that Maryland Faith for Equality has posted her testimony on YouTube, so now you can view and listen to her statement for yourself.
I think her presence and statement speak for themselves, so I won’t add further comment. However, I invite you to respond to her testimony in this post’s “Comments” section.

Thank you so much for all you do. Words cannot express the appreciation and gratitude, so I won’t even try. Thank you is all I can say.

Hi Jeannine, you haven’t lost your touch! It was an eloquent and passionate statement
with so much to think about. Thank you for preparing the statement and delivering it
so well.
I’ve known Sister Jeannine for 40 years and was a great help to me in integrating my homosexuality with my spirituality. She was directly involved in my life by encouraging me to accept the person God made me. My partner and I, having been together for 30 years, would like to have our union recognized by the state of Ohio, something impossible at this time. Leo and I got married in Washington DC in late June of 2011. It was a wonderful feeling to know that we are recognized in at least a small plot or land in the USA. Sister
Jeannine is a prophet and a wonderful witness! Thank you, Sister!
It is too bad that this falsehood springs from such a dedicated person as Sr. Gramick. Justice springs from truth and in order to serve justice, truth must be its foundation. To posit that the state must recognize gay marriage is not a justice issue.
I disagree with Mr. John Charles on whether Sister Jeannine Gramick’s statement calls for justice.. Being in a committed gay relationship for over 30 years, it is truly an issue of justice. We live in a civil society and everyone should have the same rights as any other. Being gay is how God made me and I deserve to enjoy the benefits of marriage. This is the truth of my life! Someday the Church will also recognize same-sex marriage, but probably not in my lifetime.
