The Vatican is expected to release today the list of participants for this October’s assembly of the Synod in Rome, which for the first time will include about 70 non-bishop members consisting of clergy, religious, and lay people, including women, with full voting privileges.

The Vatican yesterday released its working document for the first global assembly of the Synod on Synodality. The document includes two mentions of LGBTQ+ people, set within a larger text is replete with themes of inclusion, welcome, diversity, and listening.
Later today, at about 8:30 a.m. Eastern U.S. Time, the Vatican will release the Instrumentum Laboris, or working document, for the next assembly of the Synod this coming October.
