LGBTQ Catholics Unite Monthly Meeting
Sunday, April 25 | 1:00 p.m. | Virtual EventAt Saint Cecilia, the LGBTQ community is not just welcomed, but their gifts are celebrated, reverenced, and relied upon. This month Reverend Judith Hanlon (aka Pastor Judy) will facilitate a discussion on “A Radical Call to Change.” Pastor Judy will lead a discussion with the assistance of an LGBT asylum seeker on the need to end religious abuse of all forms and to aid LGBTQ people whose lives are at risk in their home countries to obtain asylum in the United States. Pastor Judy was raised by her father who was a mid-west Pentecostal Minister and who taught her racist, bigoted, anti-Semitic, and anti-Islamic beliefs. She had a radical change from Pentecostal to Progressive Christian and no longer believes that nonsense. She co-founded the LGBT Asylum Task Force (www.lgbtasylum.org) in Worcester, MA 14 years ago and has assisted over 300 LGBTQ people to obtain asylum in the United States. She is the senior minister of Hadwen Park Congregational Church in Worcester, MA. LGBTQ Catholics Unite hosts meetings and events where people share faith experiences, thoughts, beliefs, and feelings while being supported, heard, and spiritually nourished.
All are welcome – including allies!
