Since hearing of his death, I’ve imagined Benedict XVI sitting in a heavenly classroom where his teachers are queer martyrs and saints.
27+ is an advocacy group of faithful, practicing members of the Roman Catholic Church who believe the teachings of Jesus Christ and our church support welcoming, not rejecting, all people including LGBTQ+ people.
Plain and simple: this is an issue of life and death.
The assembly was a blessing for those who attended. Perhaps most moving was the Mass we celebrated in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a national sanctuary dedicated to the patron saint of Latin America.
Yuval and I cast nine actors of diverse ethnicities, races, genders and gender identities to portray Jesus as suffering with and for LGBTQ+ people.
It’s easier to recognize these champions of truth and the errors of their opponents in hindsight. Discerning action in the present moment, without the help of hindsight, is more difficult
LGBTQ+ people have so much to give our Church if only we would receive you as the precious people of God that you are.
Want to know what my hope is for this school year? It’s that students in our Catholic schools and parishes start hearing a different word.
