At just two pages long, the list of suggestions to faculty and staff is brief, but includes valuable best practices which could be applied to all Catholic institutions of higher learning.

Questions Remain After U.S. Bishops Allows Single Lesbian to Serve as Foster Parent 

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) conceded a legal case in early July by allowing a single lesbian to serve as a foster parent after several months of litigation. While LGBTQ+ advocates and the foster parent are both excited with the result, questions remain as to whether the concession signals a wider inclusion of LGBTQ+ foster and adoptive parents at Catholic agencies or is a singular exception made under legal pressure.

Two LGBTQ+ Catholics Face Each Other in Election for San Francisco Political Office

Two queer Catholics are vying for the same district seat to serve on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. The historic political body, which was home to Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to serve in a political office in the United States, will soon be the workplace of an LGBTQ Catholic, according to the Bay Area Reporter.
