Vote for BEST and WORST Catholic LGBTQ+ News and Events of 2025!

When looking back over the 12 months of any year,  there are always some high points and low points.  Because of the papal transition in 2025, beginning with the death of Pope Francis and the eventual election of Pope Leo XIV, 2025 seems particularly momentous for Catholics interested in LGBTQ+ equality.

But beyond papal politics, this past year was chock full of many joyous advances and many annoying dead ends.

The tradition at Bondings 2.0 at this time of year is to turn to you, our readers, to ask you to vote for what you think are the best (most positive) and worst (most negative) Catholic LGBTQ+ news stories and events since January 1. 2025.

We’ve selected 15 “nominees” under each heading of BEST and WORST. Please vote for only 5. We will tally the results, and on December 30th, we will present the results for the 10 WORST items, and on December 31st, we will present the results for the 10 BEST items!

You can vote by clicking here, reviewing the lists, and checking the items you think are best and worst. It only takes a few moments.  If you have other stories or events that you would like to “nominate,” please put them in the boxes provided at the end of each list.  When you arrive at the voting ballot, the 15 “nominees” for BEST appear first, followed by the 15 “nominees” for WORST.  At the end of each list is a box for you to offer your own suggestions that were not included on these lists.

Vote now by clicking here.

The poll will close on Sunday, December 28th, 5:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time.  Don’t delay! Cast your vote now!

Thanks for your help in creating these lists!  We look forward to see what you all think!

Francis DeBernardo, New Ways Ministry, December 26, 2025
